About Me
My name is S'Chalana. I specialize in designing brochures, direct mail, business cards, letterheads, resumes, menus and cd packages. I was born on April 25, 1981 in Austin, Texas. As a child I quickly became fascinated with art. My father Carl L. Frison (Frisonart) is an accomplished painter. Throughout my teenage years, I realized that drawing and painting were a large part of what I wanted to do with my life, I took art classes all four years in high school. Senior year was when I knew I wanted to make a career using my talents. I even expanded art by taking photography and computer classes. The oppportunity became a life changing one, when staff and alumni, from the Art Institute of Atlanta, visited my school, opening new doors for me.I've been drawing since I was about six years old. I would watch my dad paint and would try to implement what he did, but of course I was too young to use oil paints, so I used watercolor instead. Painting was never my strong suit, so I mostly did drawings with pencil, color pencil, crayons, stuff like that, until high school. High school is when I got into painting more, but I always preferred drawing over painting. Of course you always have to draw first, but I couldn't focus on the details as much as I could with just simply drawing. It didn't matter to me if it was in color. Black and white is simple and I guess I like simple.
Well, my senior year in high school is when I really branched out. I took photography. At first, I thought it was just an easy class, but I ended up really enjoying it. The thing that I remember the most is making a pin hole camera. I loved developing film in a darkroom and of course that's the only way you could produce an image, but I was in such awe as to how great the images turned out from this man made camera. Another class that I took that year was a computer class, where I learned desktop publishing. Who knew that this class would turn out to be an inspiration for me in the years to come. It was the reason that I decided to go to art school. Right now I am trying to weigh my options. I can't afford further schooling right now, so I decided to create a site showing all different areas of art that I have created over the past ten years. Thank you for visting and I hope you've enjoyed it.
